The new beginnings that springtime brings might leave you excited to see what comes next. With the weather warming up and plants coming back to life, you might be in a cleaning mood and have a goal to organize things in your home. While you get that done, don’t forget to use that energy to take care of your smile! Here are three ways you can get the stronger oral health you deserve.

1.)  Tidy Your Oral Hygiene Routine

With the hustle and bustle of your everyday life, it can be easy to forget about replacing your toothbrush. It’s something you should do every three months or after you get over an illness, as the bristle can lose effectiveness over time or harbor bacteria that can get you sick again.

Get a new one if you haven’t done so in a while, and you can make sure you are doing your best to benefit your oral health. If you haven’t already, then consider getting an electric one. If taking care of your smile has become a boring task, then consider trying out a different toothpaste and floss as well; that way, you can reignite your passion for a stronger smile.

2.)  Clean Your Toothbrush Holder and Bathroom

While you might be consistent about cleaning your bathroom, don’t forget about your toothbrush holder! It’s a small container that may be easy to ignore, but it’s worth giving a good scrubbing. Do it with warm, soapy water on the inside and outside to remove any germs that may find their way onto your toothbrush. Since you are already cleaning one part of your bathroom, you might as well do the rest!

3.)  Have a Trip to Your Dentist

Although you might be diligent about your at-home oral hygiene routine, it’s important you visit your dentist as well. They will be able to give you a cleaning to remove any hardened plaque and spot oral health issues. By taking care of cavities, gum disease, and the like, you can get them treated before they cause a bigger headache later.

Not only that, but you’ll also be given more advice about how you’re doing at home. That way, you can do an even better job and keep your smile in great shape. You can be able to get toward reaching your dental insurance deductible as well; that way, you start getting your benefits earlier.

In the end, give your grin the spring cleaning it deserves. It might seem like a small thing to do, but it can have a lasting impact on you for the rest of the year.
