Restorative Dentistry Rejuvenating Kansas Smiles
Virtually everyone experiences some kind of dental problem in his or her lifetime. What’s most important when this happens is that you have a trusted dental team you can turn to for the support you need most. At Michel Dental, our team works hard to provide patients with a warm, welcoming environment that helps them feel at ease. And by giving their smiles back the healthy structure and function they need, we can improve their quality of life significantly. Dr. Michael Michel would be happy to see you at whichever of our two locations is more convenient.
Let’s take a look at each one of these restorative services.
Crown & Bridge
A crown and bridge is a permanent replacement for one, two or three consecutive missing teeth. This prosthetic combines the strength of two dental crowns with the natural appearance and fit of false teeth. Dr. Michel mounts crowns on healthy teeth that abut the gap in your smile. In turn, these crowns support the false tooth or teeth that literally bridge the space of missing teeth.
Root Canal Therapy
When a tooth has suffered severe decay or damage, oral bacteria can have access to the interior of your tooth. When this happens, infection sets in and the nerve, blood and lymph tissues in the pulp chamber and root canals begin to die. To eliminate the infection and preserve the tooth, Dr. Michel will perform a root canal. During this procedure, the pulp chamber and canals are cleaned and disinfected and then filled with a biocompatible substance that expands to fill the empty space and block the return of infection. Finally, the tooth is prepared for a dental crown that will restore form and function.
Mini Denture Implants
Whether you are a long-time wearer of removable dentures or are getting dentures for the first time, mini denture implants may be a way for you to enjoy more comfort and stability from your dentures. With mini-implants, a specialist that works closely with Topeka dentist Dr. Michel accurately positions a number of implants in your jawbone. Then, dentures are attached to the implants for a secure fit. In some cases, new dentures can be attached the same day as surgery, but in most cases some healing time is required.
Patients who’ve suffered from significant tooth loss have been wearing dentures for hundreds of years, and today, our options are sleeker and more comfortable than ever before. Both full and partial dentures are available, depending on your needs. Both options are precisely personalized to blend in as seamlessly as possible with your remaining natural teeth, and their easy removable nature makes cleaning and storage much simpler. If you’re interested in a more sturdy reconstructive solution, implant-retained prosthetics are also available!
We’d love to welcome you to our Topeka office locations, or if restorative dentistry in Silver Lake is more convenient, we have an office there, too. Contact Michel Dental today if you have any questions for our staff about our restorative care, or if you’re ready to schedule your first consultation with Dr. Michel. We also welcome patients from Manhattan, Lawrence, and beyond.
