Dr. Michel’s career spans nearly 40 years. In that time, his passion for helping his patients achieve a healthy, confident smile has never waned. In fact, it has only grown stronger!
As for his journey to becoming the exceptional dentist he is today, it began at Kansas State University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science. Then, he pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. In the years since, he has been given the Harry M. Klenda Award from the Kansas Dental Association, served as the President of the Topeka District Dental Society, and earned a fellowship in the American College of Dentists (a few of his many accomplishments).
Of course, what really sets Dr. Michel apart is his commitment to serving his community. In addition to providing each patient who walks through our doors with the top-tier dentistry that they deserve, he was an active member of the Historic Ward-Meade Pharmacy/MD & DDS project. He was also involved as a past Board Member at United Way of Greater Topeka and volunteers regularly at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church!

I had an excellent experience at Dr. Michel Dentistry. From my very first phone call, the receptionist was incredibly helpful—she had all my documents sent over within minutes and even got me an appointment the next day! Jen, the hygienist, was amazing. She took the time to explain everything, which really helped ease my anxiety, and her work was top-notch from beginning to end. Dr. Michel was warm and welcoming, clearly explained my dental concerns, and provided affordable estimates along with a clear treatment plan. I've truly never been this happy to visit the dentist!

The cost of having a tooth removed without dental insurance will vary from person to person. The reason is that many factors must be considered, including:
On average, the cost of tooth extraction without insurance is between $150 and $400 in the U.S.; however, this price can vary depending on whether you need additional treatment or if sedation is used.
Naturally, with insurance, this procedure will cost much less out of pocket due to negotiated fees between your dentist and the insurance company. However, there are additional ways to save if you do not have private insurance, such as CareCredit Financing or enrolling in our Gold Membership Plan.
If you are trying to make a same-day appointment with a dentist, the best thing you can do is to call the practice instead of emailing. This will not have you receiving a response as fast. Calling is also more effective because you can explain to the staff what is happening and why you need timely treatment. Most dental offices include an extra operatory to address dental emergencies and same-day appointments.
When a same-day visit is required, the goal is for the dentist to assess the situation and eliminate any cause of pain. It is also used to finalize a treatment plan so that restoring your smile is the next step. In some cases, it is possible to address advanced issues with same-day care.
There are only a few dentists in Auburn for you to choose from. With a population of just over 1,200, this city remains a quaint area for families. By choosing Michel Dental for your oral healthcare needs, you can expect:
To become a licensed dentist in the U.S., you must first earn a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) from one of the 67 accredited dental schools. Before this, you must complete your bachelor's degree with high grades in a major focused primarily on math and science courses.
You can expect dental school to last 3 years and include a combination of hands-on instruction and classroom learning. Once you earn your dental degree, you can choose to pursue general dentistry or specialize in one of the 12 specializations recognized by the American Dental Association (ADA). Some of which include orthodontics, pedodontics, periodontics, endodontics, etc.
If you choose to specialize, you can expect to spend another 3 years (or more) in some dental school training. When finished, you will be required to complete a certain number of continuing education hours each year to remain licensed.
