Meet the Michel Dental Team

Dr. Michael E. Michel, DDS, PA

After earning a BS from Kansas State University, Dr. Michel received his DDS from the University of Missouri's Kansas City School of Dentistry. He opened a private practice in Topeka in 1981, and he has enjoyed the smiles of happy patients ever since.

Because he understands that dentistry is an evolving industry, Dr. Michel values continuing education. His post-graduate studies through Bio Research in the area of temporomandibular joint dysfunction and non-surgical TMJ therapy have honed his skills in diagnosing and treating this painful condition.

Dr. Michel received the Harry M. Klenda Award from the Kansas Dental Association. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Kansas Dental Association, and the former president of the Topeka District Dental Society. Dr. Michel is also a member of Special Care Dentistry and recently reestablished a geriatric program at Aldersgate Village. He earned a fellowship in the American College of Dentists and is a member of the American Society for Geriatric Dentistry.

Dr. Michel's dedication to the community has been a part of his professional life for years. He served on the United Way Board of Directors, was a board member and former president of the Hayden High School Board of Trustees, and volunteers regularly at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Dr. Michel and his wife, Jan, have been married since 1979. They have 4 children, all who have attended Hayden High School, Erin, Adam, Cooper and Libby. Jan has been a volunteer at Hayden High School for many years. She also volunteers at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Meals on Wheels. She is a former Junior League president in Topeka.

The Staff

Our staff continually pursues higher training and education to provide you with the most modern and superb dental care. We are all certified in CPR.

Sandra has been a certified dental assistant since 1985. She came to our office in 1993. She has had training in TMJ Disorder at Bio-Research in Milwaukee and training in crown design and fabrication at D4D in Texas.

Crystal is one of Dr. Michel's three registered dental hygienists. She has worked with our team since 1994.

Doug has been a registered dental hygienist since 1984. He has been with our office since 2003.

Becky has been a dental assistant since 1997. Becky is also a certified supragingival scaler. She has been with our office since 2005.

Beth won the Golden Scaler Award and Colgate Star Award before becoming one of our dental hygienist in 2006. Beth also has an extended care permit allowing her to care for our special needs patients.

Donna is our office administrator. She has been in front office dentistry since 1987. She came to our office in 2006.

Carrie has been in the dental field since 1997. As our scheduling coordinator, patients speak with her to arrange appointments. She has been with our office since 2009.

Emily has been a dental assistant since 2005. She joined our team in 2009 to assist the front and back office.
